"A Quiet Life"

Life is good. I live in a sunny flat in a pleasant leafy neighborhood in a nice part of Melbourne (the view at left is from our kitchen window).

On cool mornings I wear my green Mr Rogers zip-up sweater until the sun warms the dining room enough to open the door to the balcony. I get the mail around noon. I spend my days writing, cooking, and walking to the local shops down the road. Rebecca gets home at 6pm, at which time we go for a run, talk about our days, and eat a meal together.

There is not much more to report. On weekends we enjoy visits and walks to nearby markets and parks. We did a hike on the south coast and camped beneath a koala. Last weekend we took advantage of the great weather to spend a day on a beach down the coast. We have more exciting things planned for the future, but also enjoy doing mostly nothing, when we aren't doing something.

"'When you wake up in the morning, Pooh,' said Piglet at last, 'What's the first thing you say to yourself?'
'What's for breakfast?' said Pooh. 'What do you say, Piglet?'
'I say, I wonder what's going to happen exciting today?' said Piglet.
  Pooh nodded thoughtfully.
'It's the same thing,' he said." (-Milne)
